Disclaimer
Open Finance Society, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Our use of the word "Finance" refers only to the subject matter we cover (public financial disclosures and macroeconomic statistics).
We are not a bank, lender, money transmitter, mortgage company, insurance company, broker-dealer, or investment adviser, and we do not offer financial services.
Content on this site is general and informational only and is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
We do not: accept deposits; make or service loans; transmit money or virtual currency; broker, advise on, or execute securities transactions; solicit investments; manage client assets; or otherwise engage in activities requiring licensure or authorization by the New York Department of Financial Services.
We do not operate school, library, museum, or historical society.
The Why
Much of the data used in financial/economic research is already public (e.g., SEC filings, government releases, regulatory transparency datasets). Our goal is to make these materials easier to analyze for the public benefit and professional development.
The How
We collect public-source materials and re-render them for research usability (e.g., extract tables). Sources include:
- https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h15
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by these agencies.
We plan to release transformed datasets as open source so others can use them in their own workflows.
Going forward
We aim to expand coverage and standardization. Interpretation and policy analysis remain separate from raw data; nothing here constitutes individualized recommendations.
